Birth Preparation Workshop

This workshop is a practical session for both mums-to-be and partners and will help you access your own intuitive understanding of this very natural process of giving birth.

We will explore a variety of movements and positions which may reduce discomfort and help you be more in control. There are many benefits if you can move freely during labour; contractions are more effective; blood supply to baby is improved; downward force of gravity in wide pelvic positions means an easier birth for your baby. You will also learn several breathing, relaxation and visualisation techniques to nourish the body and mind and help during the various stages of labour and birth.

The ideal time to participate in these workshops is around 4 weeks before your due date.
These one day workshops are very informative. The focus is on the father or birth supporter’s role in providing practical and emotional support to the woman giving birth.

Provide education and support, time for discussion and the opportunity to make lifelong friendships. The fundamental aspects of labour and birth are explored. How the natural release of hormones affects the rhythm and flow of labour and how the position of the mothers body will aid the journey of the baby through the birth canal. Breathing techniques for labour and birth are included as well as practical ideas for partners on how to help a woman in labour.
