Susan has spent time studying the teachings of Shiva Rea which shines through in her classes. These sessions combine the fluidity and strengthening aspects of Ashtanga yoga with a varied sequence of postures strung apon the neaklace of breath. As the structure depends entirely on what is really going on in our external environment at that time, no class is ever the same! This allows you to practice postures and techniques that often get forgotten or become stagnant when we are used to practicing a set sequence. The class is suitable for anyone with some experience of ashtanga and/or dynamic vinyasa yoga.


 

Class Size 

At Balanced Fitness we strive to provide a unique experience with the best possible service. To allow us to provide our high standards we limit our class sizes to a maximum of 8 people. This allows our yoga teachers to spend more time on you.

Classes of 8 People :- £10 per session. (1.5 hour class).

 

Block 0f 3 : - £27.

Ashtanga Vinyasa and Prana Flow Yoga

 

The style of yoga we teach is a balanced fitness is physical practice called ‘Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga’ or ‘Prana Flow Yoga’, however, no matter what you call it, Yoga means ‘Union’; to ‘unite’ mind, body and spirit. In the physical practice of yoga we use physical postures and movements to strengthen, tone and detoxify the physical body while focusing on the breath. This powerful practice becomes a moving meditation. Over time and with regular practice, you will find the union and inner peace we call ‘yoga’.


Yoga – Take a step inside yourself

 

Yoga is not simply about physical postures, bending you this way and that, it is a way of life, a connection to your inner being. The physical aspect of yoga is a conductor for this, allowing you to shed the limitations attached to your physical body in a simple progression, step by step.
The yoga classes I teach can be seen as your daily detox. I encourage living yoga both on and off the mat. These ancient techniques were used for milenia by many yogis and non-yogis before us; they were known to work.


Daily living is becoming more and more toxic and we have lost sight of taking responsibility for our health and well being. There is an even greater need to detox the physical body than ever before. The ancient sages and yogis must have seen us coming!


I give thanks to those who have practiced before us, passing on authentic techniques, so simple yet so effective in helping us find health again. From here we can reach the point where we no longer need to build up to that dreaded yearly detox. We will become stronger and healthier than ever before. We will reach our fullest potential!


Ashtanga Yoga


Powerful and dynamic on many levels. This style of yoga was developed by the late Sri K Pattabhi Jois, in which a set series of postures are linked dynamically to the breath in a flow of movement. This will increase your strength and flexibility. When the set sequence of postures becomes familiar, the mind relaxes and the practice can become deep and meditative, yet still dynamic.

Her asana practice is based on Ashtanga Vinyasa style and Vinyasa Yoga style and is currently fine-tuning her second-series knowledge and with magical results within. She also flows with Shiva Rea’s style of teachings practising to the magic of Prana and Spanda - subtle, creative pulse of the Universe, music, body and breath awareness. She is currently studying online with Shiva’s Living Yoga Sadhana Tending the Sacred Fire course.

Kat’s heart has taught her over time to follow asana, pranayama and meditation this for her is what keeps her whole as a person, abundant and present.

 

All 45 minute classes are half the normal price.
